When to go to the Dentist
Many people only go to the dentist when something is wrong. That is truly a shame, because they are missing out on so many preventive services that can save discomfort — and expense — down the road. Regular dental visits are essential to make sure oral health problems — from tooth decay to oral cancer — are detected and treated in a timely manner. Some individuals may need to see the dentist more often than others to stay on top of problems like plaque buildup and gum disease, but everyone should go at least once per year.

We provide comprehensive Alexander City dental checkups to patients of all ages. Regular checkups are your best ally to help catch dental problems before they have a chance to do harm to your oral health. We encourage our patients to visit our office twice a year (every six months) for a thorough professional dental cleaning.
Professional dental cleanings will remove hard deposits of dental plaque on your teeth and gum line. Tartar or dental plaque buildup is the leading cause of tooth decay and gum disease. Fluoride treatments and sealants are available to help the fight against cavities. Regular checkups are your best ally to help catch dental problems before they have a chance to do harm to your oral health.
Our team of dental specialists and staff strive to improve the overall health of our patients by focusing on preventing, diagnosing and treating conditions associated with your teeth and gums. Cancer is a scary word, but the more you know about it, the better able you will be to protect yourself and the ones you love.
When necessary, in-office treatments such as topical fluoride applications are available. If you aren't getting enough fluoride through drinking water or other sources, this treatment can help prevent tooth decay. Anti-bacterial treatments may also be beneficial in some cases, as is nutritional counseling.
